Such a beautiful day in Central OR. Blue skies and sunny. Unseasonally warm. Decided to start busting up the old couch to throw in the truck for its trip to the dump tomorrow. It was a very large L shaped, covered in the finest of pleather. Was not cheap at all when we bought it moons ago from M. Jacobs Fine Furniture. Cant remember but seems like $1200 or so. I cut off and saved all the back cushions to recycle into doggie beds. Then cut off all the skin from dead naugas. Cant believe what a cheap piece of doo this couch is. Frame consisted of lateral 1 by 1s of what must be the softest pine on the planet, supported by the thinnest, sparsely used particleboard. I cant remember the brand name / model, but the manufacturers inspection tags said Hangzhou Wilwau, Zhejang China No Wonder one side of the frame broke within a year and I had to shore it up with a 4 by 4. But I am glad it was inspected by Wang Zhe fuk. I am thinking time and material in good old Zhejang maybe 150 bucks. Then pack a 100000 some odd shipping containers and send it to the idiots in the USA. New Couch we bought was made right here in Oregon with a Hardwood frame guaranteed for life (for original purchaser.)
