Such a fabulous post today on our private LinkedIn Group for the 2014 Series in White Rock, I just have to share it. Lasse is from Finland (sports and orthopaedic PT) and is making 3 trips for this intensive Clinical Mentorship. He amazed himself by finding an ankle-driven hypertonic pelvic floor. In Part 2, Kathe Wallace and Tamarah Calyniuk-Nerreter (White Rock) and Holly Herman (Oakville) spent a day teaching external pelvic floor assessment and release through the lens of The Integrated Systems Model. Lasse determined that the best way to restore both the resting tone, activation and release of the pelvic floor was to correct the driver. Her driver? Her ankle. Now many of you may think that is a huge stretch but think about it. If you cant control your ankle when you walk, and this non-optimal walking strategy twists the pelvis inappropriately, then the pelvic stabilizers are going to have to work harder. While there are many mechanisms to explain this scenario, the cool thing for me is that we now have a way to help millions of men and women with a whole body approach restore function to their pelvic floor - it requires understanding the relationships from cranium to toes though! Come join us next year 2015 Series in South Surrey and in California AND become a certified ISM practitioner. Yes! - certification process begins next year for past and future participants of this course with me.
