Such a powerful piece. As anyone who has grown up in a low-income family knows, and feels in a deeply visceral way when reading a story like this: there but for the grace of God go I. If just few things had gone differently in my life, I could have had a life like the one described. I understand that. Thats why I fight so hard to give every low-income kid a fair chance to go as far in life as their talent and effort will take them.
