Such a sweet story...I just want to share! Last year I handed an Anniversary present to my daughter and son in law. My little 9 year old granddaughter Jade was observing......and with the candour of a child she turned to me and asked Grannie...now that Grandpa has died...what about YOUR Anniversary? I replied that I no longer have one....and a look of such compassion crossed her face. She was thoughtful for a moment...then asked the date of my Anniversary, and said I am going to write it in my diary.... ..and next year I will be your Anniversary She remembered...and a week ago brought out her little diary to plan the celebration! Due to restrictions of school time, we decided to have lunch at the Wimpy...where she assured me the toasted cheese sandwiches were the BEST!! We had a lovely lunch! She summonsed the waiter to bring the bill...paid with her money...then said Granny, we will do this each Anniversary! It will be our special thing How my heart has been expanded by the love and caring of a child!!
