The Africans, most from the strife-ridden countries of Eritrea and Sudan, say they are fleeing conflict and persecution and are seeking refugee status. Israel says they are merely economic migrants in search of work.... The Africans began pouring into Israel in 2007, with their numbers steadily growing until Israel built a fence along the Egyptian border in 2012.
