Such scenario becomes the status quo when common sense is overridden by unscientific knowledge. All religions more or less have similar show of piety. Society seems to stagnate in the influence of such religions. For this reason the Quran is profoundly critical of these religions and its discourses. Unfortunately, today the Quranic proposition itself has been subverted into a ritualistic religion. Hence, the criticisms of religion within the Quran are seen as criticisms of other religions, and thus diametrically used to prove the authenticity and truthfulness of Islam. To measure the state of severity such a religion has reached in a given society, simply ascertain their opinion on scientific matters; though the Quran instigated a flood of scientific revolution, ritualistic religions on the hand persecutes science, or at least refuses to recognise its true position.
