Sudbury Celtic Festival: On Saturday, June 1st our ESL class got a truly medieval experience! We braved the rainy, cold weather and headed out to the Annual Sudbury Celtic Festival, where local Sudburians celebrate their Scottish and Irish heritage and teach us about the way things were done during Medieval times. There was real-life full contact jousting, highland games where strongmen threw giant tabors into the air, and even a birds of prey demonstration where hawks and eagles soared through the air and landed on their trainers’ (and audience members) shoulders. At night, there was a massive traditional feast of mouth-watering ribs, potatoes, chicken, and much more. The students satisfied their hunger while they enjoy the full contact jousting tournament.
