Sue & I went downtown to the Veterans Day Parade today. The parade was very enjoyable in itself, but what really left the mark on us was the lady who was standing beside us. Elizabeth, a lady we had never seen before was holding a sign that identified her as a Gold Star Mom. During the course of the parade we spoke with her and found out that her son, who was in the Army fighting in Iraq was Killed In Action in 2006. By the end of the parade there had been a lot of tears shed among us and it was such an honor to hug this sweet lady and hold her just for a moment as we were leaving and going different directions. We will always remember meeting Elizabeth and sharing in her pain and sorrow over the loss of her Hero son.
