Suffers Injury Setback By Chris Deeley 01 February 2014 3,031Reads1Comments Arsenals deadline day signing Kim Kallstrom is set for a spell on the sidelines after suffering a back injury in his very first training session with his new club. Initial reports suggested that he could be out for up to 3 months, although Arsenal have denied that the injury is that serious. BBC Sport have reported that the 31-year-old is not in Arsenals squad for Sundays visit to Crystal Palace. Kallstrom had been signed as cover following injuries to Jack Wilshere and Aaron Ramsey, as well as for Mathieu Flaminis suspension. The injury leaves Arsene Wenger short on midfield options for Sundays game at Selhurst Park, as Arsenal look to continue their title push. Kallstrom joined from Spartak Moscow on a loan until the end of the season. Kallstrom joined Spartak in 2012 following a six-year spell with Lyon, where he played more than 200 games and helped the French side to the Champions League semi-finals in 2010. Arsenal currently sit just one point behind Manchester City at the top of the table, and two points clear of third placed Chelsea, who play away to City on Monday evening in a vital game at the Etihad Stadium. Arsenal have the chance to go top after their match on Sunday against Palace, and will remain there if Chelsea can hold Manchester City to a draw.
