Sufi poetry and music is the most wonderful mystical poetry that inspired the world most known musicians. The Mevlevi is a Sufi order founded by Hazratu Mevlana Jelalul Din Al-Rumi (حضرة مولانا جلال الدين الرومي). The Mevlevi dancers are known as the whirling dervishes because the performed dance is in a form of whirling circles that lasts for hours and hours. Their body movement is amazing and it represents many aspects of life on earth and hereafter. Their long white dresses represent the shroud of the dead (كفن) Their long brown hats represent the tombstone. Their music dances and their performance called remembrance (or Zikr) in which they repeat the name of God (Allah) continuously to remind themselves and their listener of His existence and His close relation to us. Yes! He exists and He is as close to everyone as the heart to its beating.
