Sugar Bowl Resort Announces Nov. 26 Opening Date New pumphouse increases top-to-bottom snowmaking capacity DONNER SUMMIT, Calif. (Nov. 11, 2014) — Sugar Bowl Resort will open for the season on Nov. 26, with top-to-bottom skiing and riding on Mt. Lincoln, the resort’s highest peak. Resort officials are eyeing a favorable forecast that predicts a snowy end to November. The resort has also upgraded its snowmaking system, with a new mid-mountain pumphouse that allows the resort to make snow on Mt. Lincoln and Jerome Hill at the same time, as well as lay down a blanket of man-made snow from the top to the bottom of Mt. Lincoln.
