Sugar Research Institute of Fiji – Chief Executive Jay Gawander has decided to call it quits when his contract with the institute expires at the end of this month. The seasoned sugar veteran has been with the institute for a little over 33 years. His contract as CEO expires next week. Gawander started at the institute as a fresh faced researcher and scientist in 1980. He has served as CEO for two terms and will relinquish the position when his term ends this month.
