Suggest a Name for the Trust Winner gets a Tablet! I have extended various social initiatives across Ernakulam Parliamentary Constituency which includes educational initiatives, building houses for people, helping physically disabled, supporting athletes etc. Ive detailed some of my educational initiatives below. Vidyaposham Poshaka Samrudham: Providing nutritious midday meals for students. Started the program in 2004 in Karuthala St. Joseph School, Ernakulam, now covering over 100 Government schools and 32000 students across Ernakulam Parliamentary Constituency. Project costs annually Rs.1 crore 25 lakhs. Vidya Jyothi: Distributed tablets to over 2000 students, project costing Rs.1 crore 40 lakhs. Vijnana Veedhi: Book kits to over 3500 students, project costing over Rs.70 lakhs. Displace Digital Library: Digital library established in Sacred Heart College, St. Theresas College, St. Alberts College, Bharathamatha College and Ayurveda Medical College, Tripunithura costing Rs.50 lakhs. Im launching a new educational initiative tomorrow, which will be inaugurated by Kerala Governor - Sheila Dikshit, in the presence of Chief Minister - Oommen Chandy and other eminent personalities. Vidyadhanam is launched with an intention to develop savings mentality among students, I have shortlisted 1000 students in the first phase, having A+ grades in 10th & 12th exams. The project is partnered by SBI, Indias premier bank. SBI will open Zero Balance accounts with ATM Card, Cheque Books etc and students will be supported for loans for higher education as per banks schemes. I am contributing Rs.2500 to each student as an initial deposit, which I hope will grow and facilitate students to stand on their own. Project will cost Rs.25 lakhs in Phase-1. Funding for all these projects are raised from Public, Private sector companies and individuals who contributed under corporate social responsibility schemes and personal benevolence. I am approached by many, either in person or through my Facebook page with interest to be partners in my ongoing, new initiatives. For instance, Im planning to start breakfast at Rs.10; drinking water ATMs at Rs.1 per liter and many more discerning schemes. In order to facilitate raising the funds, Im starting a trust, where the funds can be credited via account transfer, international remittances or cheques. Details of such credits and utilization will be made public and updated through my new web page for public scrutiny. Trust will also facilitate tax benefits for the contributor. I request you to suggest an Innovative Name for the Trust, which will reflect the social initiatives currently run or envisaged in future. As a token of appreciation, I will personally handover a tablet to the winner whose suggestion (trust name, subject to registration) will be used.
