Suggestions.... The Board of Directors has advised us that , all other factors being equal and qualifying the same as if we were to be asked for help from any veteran family, as the founders of Veterans Alliance of Southern California we should not limit any assistance we, as individuals would otherwise be offered. As we have not taken a salary since inception. although a Board vote said we could, when funds are available, and as we have maintained the protocol that we do not use VASoCal funds without prior approval... for any one.... and as the law is very clear that a NP can not be formed to benefit the founders, we have always stayed very clear of what could be perceived as personal interest. Our roof will need to be replaced. 20 year old roof on top of the original roof which is 40 years old. VASoCal does not have the funds to do this at this time, but we could, as VASoCal, host a RAISE THE ROOF fundraiser and work day.... wondering if we would get the support we need, or if we should take a personal loan against the mobile so we can do it before the rain starts. ( We actually lean toward personal responsibility, although it is true that our income and resources would qualify us as the ideal candidate for help...) Feedback?
