Sulaymann Marreh boost for Granada Monday, November 24, 2014 Granada coach Joaquin Caparros is boosted by the return of Gambian international Sulayman Marreh after of the Andalusian derby at home today. After more than a month out with a sore heel, the former Samger star returned to training at Granada last week at the Ciudad Deportiva Council de Armilla, and he is expected to make his return to the game at Los Carmenos this evening. Speaking in a pre-match press conference after the final session ahead of the crucial game, Caparros said he is delighted to have a full squad at his disposal. “It is good to recover [all] the players, since the important thing is to have all, because having them all, we have more options to get what we want. The important thing is that the players are physically ready, Caparros said in quotes reported on the Deporte Granada. The Daily Observer reported on Wednesday that Marreh is on course to be fit for Mondays derby following his return to full training. The Gambian trained alone on the pitch last Tuesday and the full recovery is a step forward for the midfielder who many described in Spain as a champion player. Marreh got injured several weeks ago in what initially didnt seem serious, which in principle many do not pay much attention to, but with the passage of weeks, they began to see something rather troubling. A sore heel kept him on the sidelines for more than a month, and Marreh who will have to make a fresh start to win the battle that few homegrown players had won, to graduate into the first team in less than a season with the reserves. He debuted in La Liga just a few days into the start of the championship in a match against Rayo Vallecano despite his youth. Playing from the start, Marreh seemed a little bit nervous in managing pressure in the beginning but he began to settle on the pitch as the clock ticked, but by then, Caparros had already decided to take him off at halftime. Since then, he has not played as a result of the injury. But after weeks of intense training and hard work, there is finally light at the end of the tunnel for the 19-year-old Gambian international. Another battle though is how he is able to manage that substitution at the break, his last memory in the first team, and it is left to be seen if he will perceive it as a punishment or use it to his advantage. Now the player has to respond on the pitch. He has the ability to play football, what is in doubt is his ability to deal with his nerves and natural inexperience. Author: Baboucarr Camara
