Sultanates of Azerbaijan Jar-Balakan community It was located in the north-west of Azerbaijan. It included villages of communities like Jar, Balakan, Katekh, Tala, Mukhakh and Janik. During Safavids it was in structure of Garabagh beylerbeyhood. In the middle of XVIII it was annexed to Garabagh khanate. Khachyn melikhood It was formed in ХЫЫ century in upland area of Garabagh and was governed by local alban rulers. During Safavids it was in structure of Garabagh beylerbeyhood and in the middle of XVIII century of Garabagh khanate. In 1813 it was annexed to Russia in the structure of same khanate. Jrabert melikhood It was a small feudal state formed in the Middle ages in upland areas of Garabagh. The melikhood with center of Jrabert castle was in structure of Garabagh khanate during Safavids, and in the II half of XVIII century of Garabagh khanate. In 1813 it was annexed to Russia in the structure of same khanate. azerbaijans/content_400_en.html Gazakh sultanate The sultanate that established in the north-west of Azerbaijan was included in Garabagh-Ganja beylerbeylik during the Safavids. Gazakhs had the legacy power. The Gazakh sultanate, which was given by Nadir shah to subordination of Kartli czar Teymuraz was later in composition of Sheki khanate in 1752 and in 1801 it was annexed by Russia in the structure of Kartli-Kakhetia. Its area was bounded with Greater Caucasus from north, Goychay from east and Alijan River from west. It was included in structure of Sheki khanate. At the end of XVII century it was called as Gabala mahal (province). It was governed by naibs (local rulers) of Sheki khanate. Shamsaddil sultanate Shamshaddil sultanate was established in the territory of Zayam mahal and in the western areas from it, and its area was considered as inherited province of Shamsaddil tribe, one of branch of Zulgadar tribe from the time of Shah Ismail 1. In 1743 it was given by Nadir shah to subordination of Katrli czar Teymuraz. Later its area was united with Gazakh. It was called Gazakh-Shamsaddil sultanate.
