Sumi donned the guise of Alarm Clock Cat this morning, in that he arrived at the conclusion that The Human had been asleep long enough and it was time The Human got out of bed. This guise requires him to leap back and forth across The Humans body while emitting ever-increasingly insistent chirrups, occasionally punctuating these leaps by landing ON The Humans body, usually the highest point, the hip, while The Human lies on its side. The Human invariably wakes up. When The Human consents to stroke the Alarm Clock Cat, said cat absorbs the affection while nonetheless monitoring the body to see if it continues the Getting Out Of Bed phase. If this phase is not of a duration deemed brief enough, the Alarm Clock Cat will resort to the occasional love nip. This results in The Human arm retreating under the covers, and then the Alarm Clock Cat resumes the leaping over and on activity. By now The Human surrenders and gets out of bed, and the Alarm Clock Cat leads the way down the hall in a jaunty manner with tail stuck up in the air and waving.
