Summary For Lesson 10 - Weep And Howl! This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you. (John 15:12) Love One Another - https://youtube/watch?v=dADRjUKnpDI All throughout the week we were reminded of the dangerous effect of SELF and it combination with the love of money. There is no evil in the noun “Money”. There is nothing wrong with Money. While the use of many can bring a lot of satisfaction to people, money has no feeling. It’s a “thing”. So why does the Bible speak so much about money and wealth. 1 Tim. 6:10 says “For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.” Our selfish desires for money are the reason why there are so many issues with it. Some of us would prefer to see our bank account grow exponentially while our brothers and sisters go hungry and in need of the basics to sustain life. Notice very carefully what the Apostle Paul says about the love of money. He says that its “root” of “all” evil. The Strong’s concordance defines the work for “root” as “cause, origin, source,”. This word is used as a metaphor in this passage of scriptures. So in other words, all evil can find its source, origin and cause in the love of money. WOW!! This is a very serious matter. This morning the Lord is again reminding us to surrender ourselves to the total control of the Holy Spirit so that He can uproot the source of all evil from us. Sis White said, “God also entrusts men with means. He gives them power to get wealth. He waters the earth with the dews of heaven and with the showers of refreshing rain. He gives the sunlight, which warms the earth, awakening to life the things of nature and causing them to flourish and bear fruit. And He asks for a return of His own. Our money has not been given us that we might honor and glorify ourselves. As faithful stewards we are to use it for the honor and glory of God. Some think that only a portion of their means is the Lords. When they have set apart a portion for religious and charitable purposes, they regard the remainder as their own, to be used as they see fit. But in this they mistake. All we possess is the Lords, and we are accountable to Him for the use we make of it. In the use of every penny, it will be seen whether we love God supremely and our neighbor as ourselves. But Christ sanctions no lavish or careless use of means. His lesson in economy, Gather up the fragments that remain, that nothing be lost, is for all His followers. (John 6:12.) He who realizes that his money is a talent from God will use it economically, and will feel it a duty to save that he may give. The more means we expend in display and self-indulgence, the less we can have to feed the hungry and clothe the naked. Every penny used unnecessarily deprives the spender of a precious opportunity of doing good. It is robbing God of the honor and glory which should flow back to Him through the improvement of His entrusted talents.” I pray that we will continue allow the Holy Spirit to help us to use the resources entrusted to us in the most effective and efficient manner so that the name of God can be praised in the land. And on the morrow when he departed, he took out two pence, and gave them to the host, and said unto him, Take care of him; and whatsoever thou spendest more, when I come again, I will repay thee.
