Summer Camp Spotlight: Summer in the Dirt This camp is all about archaeology and paleontology and is led by our fantastic Justin White. He has some really special activities planned for this June 23-27 week. The campers are taking trips to the Queen Annes Revenge Lab in Greenville as well as the Bentonville Battlefield where they will tour the site and see a dig in action. Additionally, students will get to participate in a dig of their very own. Other activities will include: make your own fossil, dig for real fossils, identifying artifacts and fossils, mapping, stratigraphy, and site dating. Daily educational films will be shown during lunch. Additional subjects covered during the duration of the camp week are maritme archaeology, paleontology, dinosaurs, Megalodons and ancient sea life, Native Americans, and pirates. So, thats TWO FIELD TRIPS, a staged archaeological dig, and lots of great learning masked by really fun activities! June 23-27, 9am-4pm, ages 10 to 12!
