Summer Shoot 2014 Tennants Cove Gun Club hosted our annual summer shoot on Saturday August 23, 2014. We had perfect weather conditions with a nice overcast sky and calm winds. We had 50 shooters in total: 42 male 5 female and 3 youth. We had two challenging 5 stand courses. Shooters received 50 clays at two separate shooting fields. Top shooter went to Robert Sidler with an 84, second place was John Roberts with an 81 and third place was Chris McLaughlin with a 79. Top lady was Cathy Hayes with a 67 and top youth was Lucas McCollum with a 62. The door prize- a 12 gauge over and under Baikal, went to Ed Mullin. The winner of the 50/50 draw was Laurence Gilbey. The John Deere Lawn mower went to Ben Grant. Congratulations to all our winners and runners up. You all did a great job! The steak dinner was also a bit hit. There was so much good food and lots of treats to sweeten up the shooters after a tough shoot. We don’t believe anyone left hungry that’s for sure! Thank you to the Gun Dealer- Ross Faulkner, the gracious sponsor of this shoot who donated the door prize and set-up shop at our club for the day with lots of great retail merchandise for sale. Thank you to all of the volunteers who helped out with the scoring and buttons and all of the people who brought something for the barbeque. Thank you to all of our out-of-town guest for making the trip to our club. And the biggest thank you of all goes out to our regulars who keep our club running so that we can have a blast breaking clays the whole summer long! Our club appreciates everyone’s support and we look forward to seeing you all next summer at our ring and summer shoots.
