Summer classes had ended. In fact, I had just submitted my students’ final grades this afternoon. My teaching venture ceases and that gives me some sort of melancholy by now. As soon as I stepped out from the school’s gate, a sense of loss already lingered through me. I am not yet certain of anything, but if circumstances necessitate me to leave this job, I could say I am so blessed to inspire little lives. Despite the imperfections and qualms, I will surely miss my job which I learned to cherish for over a year now. Other than the compensation which was indeed insufficient, the involvement of mentoring others is irreplaceable and exceptional. Right now, I just have to dwell first on my little dreams. And if fate permits me, when everything falls into place, I would surely go back to where I started- teaching. To my students, this may sound so melodramatic, I thank you for letting a ‘gamatoy’ and ‘supladita’ teacher become part of your lives. Despite my grumpy face and mood swings, you let me feel that I am loved and respected. To my co-teachers, I want you to know that you’re one of the reasons that pushed me to go to work every single day. I am happy I was able to meet persons as precious as you. If our gazes meet and if we bump into each other in the future, PANAGAD mo ha? Haha. Lablab.
