Summer of 1955 on the Cape May Branch at a unknown grade crossing. South Jersey was the last holdout of the Readings Pacfics before they went on the their eternal rewards on the big railroad in the sky. Laying down smoke and cinders and the 6 chime screaming get out of the way, G-3 #214 is about the split the crossbucks with a rake of PRSL coaches filled with shore bound passengers. # 214 was cut up in June of 1957 along with her 9 sisters after only 9 years of service.
