Sunday 12/14/14 Report: Just received a batch of well-tied Polish style weighted woven Caddis for you Euro nymphers, tied by local Farmington angler Matty Baranowski. Good reports from the nymphers yesterday, with browns up to 21 caught. Stoneflies were working well. FYI a small #18-20 Pheasant Tail is almost never a bad idea for a dropper fly when fishing a two-fly nymph rig. Farmington flow is medium, clear and very fishable this morning- it is 235cfs below the dam in Riverton, total flow is 477cfs & steadily receding. Very nice today, already above freezing at 8am, partly cloudy today, high of 41. Nice temps through Wednesday, with highs upper 30s to mid 40s. Winter Caddis (sz 20-24) is still the current glamour hatch (comes off in the mornings), we are still seeing a few Blue Wing Olives (sz 24-28, afternoon hatch), and look also for midges (sz 22-28) in the afternoons. Nymphing, of course, has been the most consistent way to catch trout throughout the day, and is producing some bigger trout at moments. If you are fishing streamers, remember that a slower presentation (swinging and/or slow stripping & twitching) matches up with the slowing trout metabolism due to decreasing water temps- but as always, play with your presentation and let the trout tell you how they prefer it, they may still want a faster strip at moments. Try using a floating line and bouncing/hopping a Fishskull Skulpin Bunny on the bottom- use a 0x-2x tippet with this pattern & method, that fly is heavily front-weighted and rides hook point up. -Torrey
