Sunday 15th September Fixture Results Season 2013/14 kicked off with high scoring games and Zero Tolerance Referees. In the Premier Division, Ashburton Wanderers met Souls FC ‘A’ at Purley PF for their first game of the season, with Ashburton securing the three points in a 5-3 victory over the visitors. Kemar Thomas was the Wanderers man of the day, as he opened the score sheet with a goal from the spot, soon to be followed by Ben Heaton hitting the back of the Soul’s net, leaving Souls ‘A’ trailing 2-0. The visitors levelled the score before the Wanderers Aaron Howard, slipped in their third goal. Souls defence then allowed Kemar Thomas to forge ahead and sink a further two goals, for his hatrick and an assured first win of the season for Ashburton Wanderers. Bosjam met Kobs Utd at home and conceded four goals to their three, giving Kobs their first win of the season. Wheelwrights also lost 3-4 at home to Portland FC, with the winning goals coming from Adrian Butler, Asher Colbourne, Arran Leacock and Kevin Saunders. First Division opening games saw AFC Thornton take a huge home win, beating Hayes Eagles 7-2. Hayes went ahead with two goals in the first half, despite this, AFC Thornton raised their game with Adam Rea and Julian Van-Gelder netting hatricks and Chris Fisher adding another. Banter Central had a disastrous home game start, allowing Surrey Valley to take a well deserved 5-1 win and three points. Banter’s only goal came from Richard Clark whilst Valley’s winners were struck by man of the match Dan Jupe netting a hatrick and Lee Williamson and Luke Taylor netting their opening goals for the season. KFC lost 1-3 at home to AFC Thornton Heath in a battle to the end with goals from James Austin, Michael Blackman and man of the match Sergio Cisneros. Jasper Clinkscales netted the only KFC goal. St.Reatham had to bite a 4-0 home loss to Thornton Athletic with the goals coming from Benny Eisenebeiss, Dennis and Kevin Malley and Joshua Wall. In Division Two, at Duppas Hill, Croydon JFC beat homeside Forum Flyers 3-1, with Forum opening the score sheet from Bobby Fisher. JFC replied just before first half whistle and went on to seal the win in the second, with a further two goals and the three points. It was a nervy start for Portland ‘B’, as they lost 2-1 at home, to Addiscombe Corinthians. Portland’s only goal came from Adrian Bradley whilst Gareth Paul and Ben Williams secured the Corinthians win. A better story for Souls ‘B’ who dominated their first game beating Croydon City 4-2. Daniel Kofti netted a double for the visitors whilst Ashley Buckenham, Alfred Okanlawon, Jawad Sobhi and man of the match Jamal Longeran ensured the win and the opening points for the Souls ‘B’ side. Victory to Waddon Wanderers as they beat South United 5-1 away. The Wanderers Duane Henry and Edward Scurfield netted one a piece, while Barry Charman sunk three goals in the back of United’s net. Division Three successes came from Addington United at Warbank, where they secured a 2-1 home win against visitors Canterbury Park. Russell Wicking and Dean Wells were the heroes of the day, with outplayed Canterbury Park notching their goal from Juan Lopez Grisales. AFC Shirley dominated their home game beating Albany Falcons 4-0 at Ashburton PF. Shirley went on to dominate the game after both sides missed penalties. A free kick from Alan Lucas and a first half brace from Scott Nurse gave Shirley a three nil half time lead, with the second half seeing Nurse sink his third goal into the Falcons net and gaining his hatrick…A clear win for AFC Shirley! At the Griffin, home side Sanco had a massive win beating Shirley Wanderers 7-2, despite trailing in the first half. Sanco forged ahead and held a 2-1 lead at half time. Second half saw an even stronger Sanco side hitting the Wanderers net a plenty. Winners came from man of the match Chris Papanatasiou, George McQuire, Niall McCabe, Karim Smail, Laurence Dight and Wayne Hayler with an own goal by the Shirley Wanderers, whose goals came from Will Constant and Daniel Houghton. Souls ‘C’ won 4-3 at home beating Warlingham Penguins, despite Seb Collins sinking a hatrick for his visiting side. Defender Josef Ardley scored a brace for his winning side with Bradley Carter-Grey and Micky Naraine Jnr securing the win and the three points.
