Sunday 24th August 2014 Marton Country Club Soul, Marton Road, Middlesbrough As usual a fantastic venue, wi fantastic folk. Bit too many newies/crossover foar ma likin, but ye play tae the crowd. Took a wee while tae git goin, but once it hud it wis stand oot. Quite a few non-soulies in. Not too many trumpets, but a couple did huve a go at being trumpet o the year. Normal routine: 1. A few frantic dance moves 2. Oot o control spins 3. A roll aboot the flair 4. Gie up at tryin tae be centre o attention an retire tae the bar for mair liquid laughter 5. Huve another go later oan at bein centre o attention, following same agenda as above, an make a complete James Hunt o yersel. Dance flair wis in guid nick, apart for a wee hole in the middle. A hit it at yin stage ah nearly landed oan ma bahookie, but a recovered well. Also noticed a handbag on the dance flair later oan an a few folk dancin roond it. Must be some sort o ritual.
