Sunday 3rd of november 2013 FC Shire 4-0 AFC Houghton Magna Chris Knight Andrew Atkins Alex Bisoc Smakula Isboses Ian barker Glen Plummer Stef Morris Marcus Ward Neil Garrrtt Andy Pixton John Tarry Subs Sam Clarke Adrian Ghiuzan Ricky Devaney We welcomed AFC Houghton Magna to the old Grammarians ground on another windy Sunday afternoon. We went into the game full of confidence after our 5-3 win in the cup last Sunday. Rob was back on the sidelines after his week off, we also made three changes to the starting line up from last week with, Chris Knight,Marcus Ward and new club captain Neil Garrett all starting. After Neil won his first coin toss we decided to shoot up with the wind against us, and we started the same as we did last week with some good attacking football and where unlucky not to take a early lead. JT pulled his hamstring early on and had to be replaced by Adrian after the first ten minutes! Then soon after we took a deserved lead when Wardy was in the right place at the right time! The goal came from a long clearance from Chris which went into the path of Andy who crossed for Wardy who slid in to make it 1-0. We carried on pushing and Glen showed off some Tekkers to beat his man on the edge of the box and he put and decent cross for Andy who was unlucky not to score! Pixton,Adrain and Wardy where getting in behind the Magna back four with ease and missed a number of opportunities to add to the score sheet, before another long ball was key in the second goal. This time Ice played a messi like through into Pixton who rounded the goalkeeper to make it 2-0 at half time! Sam was brought on for the start of the second half replacing Glen. The second half started like the first and Stef played Adrian in from the kick off and the Magna defender did well to put the ball out for a corner! The wind was really playing its part in the game, Magna finding things really hard as they struggled to clear there lines. It was about 20 minutes into the second half when Wardy made the game safe with his second goal of the game thanks to another assist from the impressive Pixton! We soon then adding another to the score sheet thanks to the Magna goalkeeper, whos goal kick got caught up in the wind a landed at the feet of Adrian who made no mistake from close range to make it 4-0 Neil and Stef where running the midfield and broke up any danger in the middle of the park. and Stef was then made to do five press up after a terrible effort sailed onto the a43 and he was soon brought off soon after! Ricky and glen then came on for the last 20 minutes to sure up the midfield and Ricky played Adrian through on goal and his effort hit the post. Soon after the ref blew for full time and we fully deserve our second league win of the season! Thanks to the defence we managed to keep our first clean sheet of the season . Ian and Andrew where once again awesome at full backs and the man mountain Vidic took no prisoners once again! And Ice was once again fantastic at the heart of the defence and chris played really well in goal on his first appearance for a month, he dealt with everything that came his way. We now move on to next week looking to make it three wins in a row. Man of the match Whole team
