Sunday 7th December: Leitrim Kingpins Manor Rangers blaze ahead in the Sligo Southern Hotel Super League having dropped only five points out of a possible thirty nine and amazingly the points dropped were all against Real Tubber this time they travelled to Forthill to take on Glenview Stars and it was all one way traffic with Hassan Aajip Alan Hickey and Sean Pender each bagging two goals while Adrian Croal added the seventh Glenview Stars battled all the way and Eamon Dolan managed to net once for Glenview but today Manor Rangers were the Stars. Yeats United welcomed Merville United to the Danny Mc Ginley Memorial Park situated in the beautiful village of Carney in the Yeats Country and the home side were poetry in motion Sean Pender showing the way with two killer strikes he was aided and abetted with a goal each from Lorcan Feeney Alan O Dowd and Darragh Gaule while Merville hit the net twice through Mark Mc Goldrick and the brilliant Glen Shannon. Real Tubber made their visit to Ballisodare a rewarding one thanks to a superb hat trick from Stephen Matthews and a fourth goal from Martin Mulvaney taking all three points while Andrew Patton and Michael Casey netted a goal each for Ballisodare Utd. Strand Celtic entertained visitors Carrick Town to a blustery Strandhill but Barry O Mahoney calmed the storm cracking home a hat trick that included on e from the penalty spot and Ronan Walsh added the fourth for a very strong Strand Celtic side who were made to battle all the way by a very hard working and talented Carrick Town team. Aughanagh Celtic travelled to Hazelwood for their encounter with Calry Bohs and despite scoring three times in this four goal encounter and still came only came away with a draw Thomas Cryan and Shane King were on target for Aughanagh Celtic while Thomas Kelly netted for Calry Bohs but Paddy O Grady who had an outstanding game for Aughanagh was unfortunate to bag an own goal to give the home side a share of the spoils. Ballymote Celtic are the current pace setters in the Andrew Mullens Sligo Pallets Premier League hitting a massive eight goals away to Arrow Harps in Riverstown. The strike partnership of Daniel Ford and Mark Irwin is proving a lethal combination with the hit men each bagging a hat trick with further goals from Conor Meehan and Matthew Drew wrapping up the points for a rampant Ballymote Celtic the home side scored twice through Ryan Mc Kenna and Conor Clancy but the young guns of Arrow Harps were outshot today. St Johns journeyed down to Mullaghmore for their clash with Cliffoney Celtic and both sides shared the points in this four goal encounter Gerry O Connor scoring both goals for Cliffoney Celtic while Conor Brennan and Colin Feehily were on song for St Johns. Boyle Celtic Reserves with a goal each from Ryan Daly and Martin Mullen drew at Celtic Park with visitors Carbury who replied with strikes from Paul Flanagan and Gavin Butler. Dromore Villa won the bragging rights in this all local derby game against neighbours Kilglass Enniscrone United Stephen Feeney and Barry Duffy were the toast of the Villa dressing room with a goal each securing a great victory. Gurteen Celtic made the long journey to Grange to take up the challenge of Benbulben FC and that they did in style Vincent Frizzel netting a hat trick Martin Doherty adding a brace and Dan Flaherty rounding of the days business for Gurteen while Gavin Gilsenan and Anthony Moylette each fired home for a battling Benbulben. Chaffpool United and MCR shared the spoils in this four goal clash Ciaran Harvey netting both goals for MCR while Damien Waters and Stuart Mc Grath replied for Chaffpool United. Strand Celtic Reserves with goals from Gary Cadden Jamie Bannigan Karol O Neil David Joyce and a double from Daniel Maye accounted for an out of touch Coolaney United. The Big guns were out in force for FAI Umbro Junior Cup 5th Round League Champions Boyle Celtic were away to Dundalk side Muirhevna Mor FC and gave a great account of themselves Shane Battles firing home a glorious hat trick with James Carty on the mark with two more and Niall Brennan adding the sixth goal for a jubilant Boyle Celtic. City United at home in Sean Fallon Park to Carew Park of Limerick was another mouth watering encounter with City the underdogs, Carew Park took the lead after only fourteen minutes through Jonathan Grant but what a bite the underdogs produced with the Silver Fox Gareth Kelly and current Junior International Keith Nibbs each scoring twice that captured an awesome victory for a rampant City United.
