Sunday 9:00 pm update Sorry I havent updated all week. Weve been pretty busy lately. Last Monday, they discovered an issue with her feeding tube. The tube came loose and was pumping feeding inside her abdomen. So they replaced the tube and it came out again. On Wednesday they found that the site was infected. They were going to pull the tube and put an NG tube in through her nose for feelings until the site healed. When they were removing the tube, they went ahead and attempted to place a J tube, which goes into the stomach then turns and goes into the small intestine. That procedure was successful. So now she is on an antibiotic for the infection and everything should be fine. They had a few concerns about her breathing this week because they werent getting a good response from her. When they addressed the issue with me, we concluded that she has a harder time breathing when shes tired, and theyve been trying to get her to do it while shes either sleeping or nearly asleep. So today she woke up good a couple times, and both times we were able to get some good breathing out of her. This is going to be a long road, and she has to work very hard at it, but this goes to show, that she can do it. Were praising god for today, because we were getting to the point where the hospital had to chart some improvement, so now that they know the pattern, they will wait to work with her until shes fully awake, and hopefully keep improving. We appreciate all the prayers, and definitely feel like they are working. May god bless all of you.
