Greer, Sr., Pastor Bethel AME Church Bloomfield Scripture: Romans 5:1-6 Subject: “It’s Time for a Cross Check” The Apostle Paul is talking to the church of Rome. A church well versed in the power of God, being evident in his people. An established church. A church worshipping together but dealing with struggles and the ups and downs of life. The church recognized that they are empowered by God and yet still struggle in life. Going through in your Spirit. Paul sends a letter of encouragement to the church telling them they are justified, redeemed and saved by Faith. The word justified can be substituted with “just as if it never happened”. Through Jesus and his blood, God loves you just the way you are. The believers have too remind ourselves that we are sinners that are saved by God. There is no big or little sin. Sin is anything that separates us from God. If you are a child of God you will have tribulations. Glory in tribulation…it will build patience…patience will build experience…experience will build hope and if you have hope in the Lord God, He promises that everything will be alright! We cannot get onboard without a ticket and your ticket has been paid in full by Jesus. The cost of your ticket was the blood of Jesus. But… …you can’t get onboard if you don’t believe in Him. …you can’t get onboard if you tried Him for a minute and backed away from Him. …you can’t get onboard if you don’t take him at his word and try him and see that he is real. …you can’t get onboard if you always ask him for stuff and don’t put your hand in his hand and lean on his name and trust him to be a witness, a healer a way maker. We all can get onboard and when you sit down, put your seatbelt on…that seatbelt stamped FAITH!
