Sunday (Day 7) This morning we woke up for the last time in San Juan del Sur. Mario, Jake, and Tyler packed up our bus (quote the process) and we were off! A sleepy hour and a half later we arrived in the colonial city of Granada, Nicaragua. Once we arrived we headed to a little boating place where we loaded three boats and took a tour of Lake Nicaragua. We saw some amazing houses and restaurants each on their own individual islands within the lake. Im sure everyone agrees that the best part was seeing the monkeys on what is called Monkey Island. Once we returned from the hour long boat tour, we had a delicious lunch at The Garden Cafe in downtown Granada. After that we checked into our hotel, Hotel Colonial. We then had the afternoon to explore Granada. Some visited the local artisan market, shops, chocolate factory, and walked down to the lake while others took a little siesta (nap time). At six oclock we played two sets against a mash-up team of some of the girls weve played before and we also played three sets against the national team. It was a great experience to play the national team one last time and both teams had improved since our first match. After a very sweaty game we headed to a little pizza place in downtown Granada where we engorged ourselves with delicious Pepperoni, Hawaiian, and Margarita pizza. Its a drout now in Nicaragua but we finally experienced some of Nicaraguas legendary rainy season on our walk back to the hotel- we practically swam our way back! We will all sleep well tonight and rest up to get the most out of our last full day in Nicaragua! -Janessa, Amber, Taylor, and Brooke
