Sunday, Dec. 7th - 10am Service I Am Not My Hair Judges 13: 2-7 Take a look at yourself. Are you being a help or a hindrance to: Your church? Your Race? To Justice ? To Equality? Are you helping to pluck up negativity or are helping cultivate it? Are you assisting or are you hurting? You owe it to society to be educated & responsible; to handle your business. You must plan to do, plant to be and then execute those plans. In pleasing God, some things begin to change about and in you. Those are the things that you will pass along, instead of what you might have passed along previously. God needs use of your time, talents and treasures in order to bless you completely. Proverbs 16:7 When a mans was please the Lord, He maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him. Judges 13: 2-7. 2 A certain man of Zorah, named Manoah, from the CLAN of the Danites, had a wife who was childless, unable to give BIRTH. 3 The angel of the Lord appeared to her and said, “You are barren and childless, but you are going to become pregnant and give BIRTH to a son. 4 Now see to it that you drink no wine or other fermented drink and that you do not eat anything unclean. 5 You will become pregnant and have a son whose head is never to be touched by a razor because the boy is to be a Nazirite, dedicated to God from the womb. He will take the lead in delivering Israel from the hands of the Philistines.” 6 Then the woman went to her husband and told him, “A man of God came to me. He looked like an angel of God, very awesome. I didn’t ask him where he came from, and he didn’t tell me his name. 7 But he said to me, ‘You will become pregnant and have a son. Now then, drink no wine or other fermented drink and do not eat anything unclean, because the boy will be a Nazarite of God from the womb until the day of his death. We serve a miracle working God who can do anything but fail. There are several episodes in the Bible of barren miraculously bearing children. Samsons mother had been barren, but the Man of God tells her that she will bear a son who will be a Nazarite, dedicated unto God. He gives her three pieces of instruction to follow: 1. He was not to drink strong drink. 2. He was not to touch any unclean thing (dead animals/humans) 3. His hair is never to be cut. These were standards that were necessary for Samson to keep. Many times, in our homes, our children cant abide by standards, because there are no standards that have been set for them to abide by. How can we as parents expect them to abide by a standard that has not been set before them as an example? Samson was set apart for a special purpose from the moment he exited his mothers womb, but he began to ignore Gods instructions and rely on his own strength. His passion for Philistine women also became more important that his instructions from God. (Judges 14:9). He saw what he wanted and wanted his parents to go and get it for him. Judges 14:7 reads that Sampson went down and talked with a woman who pleased him well. Why would you go down to find anything or anyone. Why would you lower your standards to find anyone or anything? What is the it in your life thats causing you to 1. Turn your head 2. Invite the wrong person into your bed 3.Change your mind 4. What is the it that has your nose wide open? Anyone and anything will be right in your eyes if you dont have proper vision. Whatever youre looking at is subject to kill you - but you saw it, wanted it and blindly went for it. The situation that Samson found himself in was a mis-matched situation. It didnt make sense.... but God had a plan and a purpose. When you have a mis-matched situation in your life, you must pluck it up, pull it out and get rid of it, knowing that all things are working together for your good. God knows what Hes doing and doesnt make mistakes. It was by Samson marrying a Philistine woman that God was able to deliver the Israelites. God will use tactical, strategic zig-zags in order to perform His will in our lives. Let him do what he knows how to do. Let God be God. Dont get used to your mis-matched situation in your life. The enemy only chases the anointing. He doesnt even want YOU. He wants whats on the inside of you - your anointing. You are only a quest to him. You must: 1. Secure/Protect the source of your strength - Learn to hush and quit telling everybody your weak spots.Samson told Delilah too much and she began to toy with him and manipulate his mind. 2. Watch where you lay your head. - Satan is rocking many of the saints to sleep.Were laying our heads in his lap, and are comfortable enough to go to sleep there, just like Samson did with Delilah. Its time for the body of Christ to wake up. Once Samsons 7 locks were gone, then so was his strength. A disconnect had happened. Once his locks were gone, all sorts of trouble was unlocked. He had no vision from the beginning, but now he was unable to see physically (his captors blinded him). How many times in your life, would you have saved yourself a lot of trouble had you listened to your parents, trusted your pastor, paid attention to your surroundings. You might not be where you are today. Warning comes before destruction. Samsons captors believed that his entire strength came from his hair, but what they didnt know was that the prophesy made him a Nazarite from the time he exited the womb, until the day of his death. They thought that by cutting his hair, that they could change who he was, not realizing that God made him who he was, not his hair.
