Sunday, December 28, 8:00pm Sidney has had a restless day. She tries so hard that she wears herself out. It is a long process to begin to wake up. Peace, quiet and low lights are what calm her the most. Tonight she calms down to Silent Night sung softly to her. She had visits today from some of her closest friends and unfortunately, not all were able to see her. As family members, its hard for us to remember not to wear her down, we know shell be sorry that she missed you, but we also know you love her and understand that this is part of the process. Even if you dont see Sidney, know that your visit means the world to the rest of us and provided us with much needed support. She has some wonderful friends. We are getting ready for a shift change and once again, have been lucky to have Antony and Sunita to care for her today. Sunita will not be back on before we anticipate leaving. She is like our family, they all are, but Sunita has been with her for several days. We will really miss each one of them. Mackenzie will be caring for her tonight, Kevin will be down the hall as well. They are all so busy, but never fail in the quality of care and love that she receives. Some day soon, Sidney will be able to come and meet each one of these Angels. Right now in her recovery, we are past the most critical stage and now to provide comfort until she awakes. She has really settled down and is resting comfortably. The ventilator is still off and will go back on tonight for support. We rejoice in each struggle, restlessness and hurdle, as that is forward progress and all part of Gods timing. We are so very fortunate to have been blessed with her life. ❤️
