Sunday, February, 2, 2014 Come And Stay! Scripture - Happy is a man who finds wisdom and who acquires understanding Do not despise the Lord ’s instruction, my son, and do not loathe His discipline (Proverbs 3:13, 11 HCSB) The Lord said to Moses, “Come up to Me on the mountain and stay there so that I may give you the stone tablets with the law and commandments I have written for their instruction.” (Exodus 24:12 HCSB) He mocks those who mock, but gives grace to the humble. (Proverbs 3:34 HCSB) Observation - There are some things that can only be learned in the quiet seclusion of waiting on God. And so, He says: Come up to me and stay for a while. For those who accept the invitation, God reveals the mysteries of His Kingdom. Those who do not, refuse His gift at their own peril. Application - Have I shown contempt for my God by neglecting His invitation - the quiet waiting that reveals His wisdom? Do I mock Him today be forging ahead in ignorance rather than insight? Prayer - Heavenly Father, You alone hold the words of eternal life; You alone know the beginning from the end and understand the rhythm and rhyme of my journey. Teach me to wait on You! Not merely as a habit or discipline, or a path to wealth and well-being, but as my life and breath - the very food I eat and air I breathe! Amen, I agree!
