Sunday, November 03, 2013 Lord God, all I can say is HELP America. Please pray for Billie’s body to be healed by the power of God, adding in a friend of Kathy’s whose name is Dave who needs prayer for healing, for Rick to be healed and receive God’s Wisdom. Please lift Mark up in prayer. For everyone to study the word daily. These are three very much needed prayers. 2 Peter commentary The book of 2nd Peter is a General Epistle (Apostolic Letter). It was written to all believers in general. The author is Peter who wrote it about 63-64 A.D. The key personalities are the Apostles Peter and Paul. Its purpose was to warn against the increasing number of false teachers attacking the truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. 2 Peter 1: 1-2 1 Simon Peter, a servant and apostle of Jesus Christ, To those who through the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ have received a faith as precious as ours: 2 Grace and peace be yours in abundance through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord. This is the type of greeting that Peter sent in all of his letters to the churches, it was meant to encourage and lift up their Spirits. Psalms 119: 165 - 168 ש Sin and Shin 165 Great peace have those who love your law, and nothing can make them stumble. Once you become born again you have this peace that surpasses all human understanding. That is the peace Peter is talking about here. I was amazed at the peace that fell over me the day I met Jesus for the first time. It was a miracle since I was on the verge of trying to end my own life. 166 I wait for your salvation, Lord, and I follow your commands. I received my salvation that day and knew that I desired to walk with Jesus where ever he may take me. It was the turning point of my life. 167 I obey your statutes, for I love them greatly. Like Peter we are to obey the word of God, for when we come to know Jesus one on one you want to know everything there is to know about him and his Father. 168 I obey your precepts and your statutes, for all my ways are known to you. When we beginning our walk with Jesus, you realize that God knows everything about you. He saw you before you were ever born and knew the things that would come and go in your life. It is God’s desire that we not only get to know him better each day but we find out all about our God and His son. God Bless you, Me
