Sunday PM Update... Very soon we will be feeling the effects of our clipper system. Rain showers and knocking on the door and some thunderstorms have formed back in parts of Alabama and Mississippi. There is still a decent shot at seeing some snow showers or flurries Monday morning. However I think any accumulation potential will be limited to areas above 2,000 ft. Some higher elevation spots could get 1/2 -1. Unfortunately the fly in the ointment I mentioned yesterday will be the nemesis for most of us. The boundary layer (lower 3,000 ft of the atmosphere in this case) will be above freezing which will make it difficult for flakes to survive to the surface let alone accumulate. So what Im thinking is that showers this evening and tonight will transition to snow showers probably near 4am(ish). Elevations above 2k feet might get some small accumulations. Then this clipper will spawn a low pressure to develop off the coast of NC that will ride up the coast and give areas from NJ northward a blizzard. Ill post updates as needed.
