Sunday Praise...After our set this morning at St. James, Aaron, Jake Murphy and myself were sitting backstage listening to the sermon. They were sitting on steps and I was sitting on some type of wood box. One of our songs had been cut to make room for a special testimony. The song was the one Im about to post, and a song I love to play by an artist that is off the charts incredible. Its an epic song, and I was born to play epic drums on epic songs. Its what I live for musically. So I was a bit disappointed when I heard we werent doing it. Then I heard the testimony. The 3 of us are just sitting back there quietly as they were introduced, the grandparents of a 5 year old boy. What followed, as they each took turns lifting up the most amazing praise at a time when almost anyone else would be lifting up fists of rage, brought tears in my eyes. I had to literally fight them back not to look foolish in front of the guys. They told tales of this amazing boy, his infectious smile, his love of Captain America, and his antics that made everyone that knew him, love him. Then they told tales of rushing to St. Joes to meet the helicopter that had airlifted him, and running into the hospital to hear a page of devastating words in hospital code, but they knew what it meant. The boy had been hit by a truck and died in route on the helicopter. 5 years old. Taken in an instant. How does anyone deal with that? These people amazingly lifted the congregation up today beyond Heaven in their show of unwavering faith and obedience. Their assurance that their grandchild was now with Jesus and doing just fine. Their joy that though he was only 5, that boy knew exactly who Jesus was because he had been told in great detail, and no introductions would be required. I thought of this song we were supposed to play. Forever. I wrote this morning on my check in at that church, Lets see why God sent me all the way up here today. Thats why. That testimony further strengthens my resolve at a time when we all need to be seeking as much as we can. God bless them, and heres that song dedicated to Captain American in Heaven :) https://youtube/watch?v=huFra1mnIVE
