Sunday Reading : November 10 , 2013 - Hatour , 1, 1730 ☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼†☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼ Gospel Paulines Epistle ▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒†▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒ From Message teacher of St. Paul the Apostle to the Corinthians - 2 Corinthians 9 : 1-9 ----------------------------------------†---------------------------------------- 1 For as touching the ministering to the saints, it is superfluous for me to write to you:2 For I know the forwardness of your mind, for which I boast of you to them of Macedonia, that Achaia was ready a year ago; and your zeal hath provoked very many. 3 Yet have I sent the brethren, lest our boasting of you should be in vain in this behalf; that, as I said, ye may be ready: 4 Lest haply if they of Macedonia come with me, and find you unprepared, we (that we say not, ye) should be ashamed in this same confident boasting.5 Therefore I thought it necessary to exhort the brethren, that they would go before unto you, and make up beforehand your bounty, whereof ye had notice before, that the same might be ready, as a matter of bounty, and not as of covetousness.6 But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.7 Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:9 (As it is written, He hath dispersed abroad; he hath given to the poor: his righteousness remaineth for ever. (The grace of God the Father. Come on our souls my fathers and brothers. Amen.) †††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††† Catholic Epistle ▒▒▒▒▒▒†▒▒▒▒▒▒ From the Epistle of St. James blessings be with all of us Amin - James 3 : 1-12 ------------------------------------†----------------------------------------- 1 My brethren, be not many masters, knowing that we shall receive the greater condemnation.2 For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body.3 Behold, we put bits in the horses mouths, that they may obey us; and we turn about their whole body.4 Behold also the ships, which though they be so great, and are driven of fierce winds, yet are they turned about with a very small helm, whithersoever the governor listeth.5 Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth! 6 And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell. 7 For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed of mankind: 8 But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.9 Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God.10 Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.11 Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter? 12 Can the fig tree, my brethren, bear olive berries? either a vine, figs? so can no fountain both yield salt water and fresh. (Do not love the world, nor the things in the world, because the world and its desires pass away with itself , but who does the will of God it stays forever) †††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††† Acts of the Apostles ▒▒▒▒▒▒†▒▒▒▒▒▒ The work of our fathers the Apostles - Acts 10 : 37-48,11 : 1-1 ------------------------------------†----------------------------------------- 37 That word, I say, ye know, which was published throughout all Judaea, and began from Galilee, after the baptism which John preached;38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him. 39 And we are witnesses of all things which he did both in the land of the Jews, and in Jerusalem; whom they slew and hanged on a tree:40 Him God raised up the third day, and shewed him openly; 41 Not to all the people, but unto witnesses chosen before of God, even to us, who did eat and drink with him after he rose from the dead.42 And he commanded us to preach unto the people, and to testify that it is he which was ordained of God to be the Judge of quick and dead.43 To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.44 While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word.45 And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost. 46 For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter,47 Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we? 48 And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days. 1 And the apostles and brethren that were in Judaea heard that the Gentiles had also received the word of God. (The word of Lord shall grow, multiply and cherishes and prove, in the holy church of God Amen.) †††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††† Mass Psalm 65: 10, 11 ¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤†¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤ 10 Thou waterest the ridges thereof abundantly: thou settlest the furrows thereof: thou makest it soft with showers: thou blessest the springing thereof.11 Thou crownest the year with thy goodness; and thy paths drop fatness. Hallouia †††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††† Mass Bible Luke 8 : 4-15 ☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼†☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼☼ 4 And when much people were gathered together, and were come to him out of every city, he spake by a parable:5 A sower went out to sow his seed: and as he sowed, some fell by the way side; and it was trodden down, and the fowls of the air devoured it.6 And some fell upon a rock; and as soon as it was sprung up, it withered away, because it lacked moisture. 7 And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprang up with it, and choked it.8 And other fell on good ground, and sprang up, and bare fruit an hundredfold. And when he had said these things, he cried, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear. 9 And his disciples asked him, saying, What might this parable be? 10 And he said, Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God: but to others in parables; that seeing they might not see, and hearing they might not understand. 11 Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God. 12 Those by the way side are they that hear; then cometh the devil, and taketh away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved.13 They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away.14 And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection.15 But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.
