Sunday School Lesson help: Any temple made on earth pales in comparison to the temple described and shown to Ezekiel the prophet. WHAT DOES THIS MEAN TO ME? Well, this shows me that we are utterly imperfect and fall steeply short of Gods glory, wisdom, and power. If God showed you the standard by which you were to stand next to, you would feel small, shamed, and utterly vulnerable. BUT GOD... God, in His mercy, has become our standard on earth, He became as we, human, for the purpose of fulfilling Gods expectation of the Law, and was murdered...thereby allowing the atonement to take place on a spiritual plane of existence. The blood of Yeshua (Jesus) was shed to not only destroy the power of sin and its consequential punishment, but to show us, while we live, that He has taken our place for that punishment. So, as we see how Ezekiel was shown the prescribed measurements and purpose of the temple, and reflect on historys past temples, and the people that surrounded it, and the allowance for it to go undone, and be to profaned. We see something in a way that God sees it. We are looking at ourselves here now, we (Christians) are the temple of God. We (humanity) have done the same in essence; we have gone against His prescribed way, we have forsaken our true purpose, we have allowed the world to infiltrate, and we have become profane in His sight. However, we (Christians) who have come to know Jesus and believe and obeyed Him, we are no longer standing, as to be judged, by that standard. Jesus is the standard. He has stood in our place. God looks upon Jesus, and not on us (Christians), for Jesus is who God sees when he had judged us, once and for all. Its all because of Him, His blood, and His obedience, even unto the cross. There are people that do not believe now, but they will feel the shame and the disgrace, and even the regret that they had never taken Jesus as their Lord and Savior. They will see themselves because God will one day show them and have them stand next to the standard, to be judged...and if they cannot compare, they will perish, from His presence, into darkness, where all unholy beings languish in regret.
