Sunday Thoughts Alfred North Whitehead has for decades been one - TopicsExpress

Sunday Thoughts Alfred North Whitehead has for decades been one of my heroes, and now that I stand on the threshold of my 60th birthday, I admire him more than ever. Whitehead taught math and philosophy in London universities for 40 years, and at age 63, a good year to retire some would say, Whitehead launched a second teaching career at Harvard in America. For another 13 years, Whitehead articulated and taught what has come to be known as Process Philosophy which deals with relational rather than substantive reality. He finally retired at age 76, and died ten years later. What a life! As I turn 60, every day seems more like a gift than they ever have before. I intend to receive them with more intentional appreciation. Yes, I want to pursue purposeful work for as long as I physically and mentally can. And, if I am going to work, I want a pay check. I want to finish well too, so I will call on God for strength and wisdom as I make decisions and live each new day. May we all seek to live for Gods glory and enjoy the life we receive.
