Sunday Thoughts Trauma, injury, and lifes deep hurts are experiences which also never leave a person where they find him or her. These experiences always take a person somewhere in life. A young wife and mother watched powerlessly as her child suffered irreversible injuries to his life. The pastor came soon to minister to the family. In the course of the conversation the mother said, I know experiences like this have the power to color our lives, and I intend to choose that color, and it will not be just black and blue. Lifes traumas and hurts come and we cannot stop them. But we can determine how we will respond to them. While we may be weak, we are not without options of response. We can choose to be victors and not victims in life. We can call on God for wisdom to understand, and strength to move forward, knowing everyday we are moving further into life becoming a different person because of the experience. What deep hurts have we experienced? Where was our character then? Where is our character today? Lifes injuries come and they will take us somewhere. May we work with God to take us further along the path of sharing the character of Jesus, the Christ.
