Sunday Worship Service at 10:00 a.m.: Pastor Gary continues with his sermon series discussing what it means to be a disciple and follower of Jesus Christ, using references in Luke and Acts. This week his message, Spirit and Power references the scripture reading from Acts 2:1-13. As the Spirit came upon Jesus to prepare him for ministry, the Spirit comes to the church and gives the disciples the focus and the gifts that they need to continue the mission that Jesus started. So, how do we gain access to that power? The means of grace and the classical spiritual disciplines are tools for accessing the power of God. They are not the power of God. They are not ends in themselves. But in prayer, meditation, fasting, solitude, worship, confession and the others, we have conduits to God that open us to the indwelling of Gods Spirit.
