Sunday inspiration: When I think back to my time in Kenya - TopicsExpress

Sunday inspiration: When I think back to my time in Kenya this past June, I am immediately reminded of this woman. We were at a water well put in last January from some of the funds raised through HWP, standing in the dried-up riverbed adjacent. Many Pokot gathered to show their appreciation and explained about the life-change that had occurred in just 5 short months. As I was sharing about Team Kensington and our efforts to bring more clean water wells, she grabbed me from behind - hugging, praising, thanking me for bringing this Good News! If you look closely, you may be able to tell that she was crying, as was I. Actually, other than the skin color, we even kinda look alike. We may actually have many similarities, including a common faith in Jesus Christ. However, very unlike me, prior to January, she lived a life of DAILY struggle to attain clean water. But, NOT ANY MORE! Hope Water Project has changed that for her and thousands of others. So, I continue to ask myself, why did God choose to place me here and not there? Certainly He loves us both, right? This is a question I will probably never resolve. But, what I DO know for sure is that He sent ME, and all of YOU, to DO SOMETHING! In Matthew Wests song he says, If not us then who; If not me and you; Right now, its time for us to do something. We are the salt of the earth; We are a city on a hill; but were never gonna change the world by standing still; No we wont stand still! Together, we ARE doing something! I saw it! I felt it! We are making a difference! And we certainly are NOT standing still! We are soon to run a freakin marathon! Please continue to fundraise! This ripple-effect must not end! They NEED it! They DESERVE it! Water is LIFE! Water is HOPE!
