Sunday rant... Two NYPD officers were killed yesterday by a lone gunmen. The gunmen then took his own life and will avoid the Justice he deserves. A tragedy, for the families and for law abiding citizens of New York. What bothers me the most is that just days before the youth of America were taking to the streets protesting and chanting what do we want? Dead cops! When do we want it? Now! Really! If I found out that one my kids were protesting like that Id put half of my foot in their ass and then take a good look in the mirror. But I wouldnt have to look long because I already know where I went wrong. My parents had one very important rule. Never embarrass your family. If a teacher, principal, or God forbid, a cop called or came to our house, about something I did, I was wrong ! Even if I wasnt wrong, I was wrong. Why? Because I put myself in a situation in which my parents had to be informed. That usually resulted in a good ass beating. What did I learn from it? Respect authority, keep your mouth shut, and do what youre told. Today, unfortunately, we live in the Not my baby world. To many parents think their kids arent capable of doing stupid shit. You gave them everything. You took them everywhere. You watched everything they did. You hovered over them. So if someone like a teacher, principal, or cop said they did something you get defensive. Not my baby! So why should a kid respect authority when they can do no wrong? I see this in school all they time. Its hard to talk to a parent who thinks their kid can do no wrong. That it must be my fault. That I, the teacher, have the problem that needs to change for their kid to succeed. All the while the kid sits there with a smug look on their face. So now these young people are out there. Shouting kill Cops. They surely incited a mentally disturbed man to take the lives of two cops, who were doing their jobs. Protecting and serving the people of New York and their right to protest. Great job folks.
