Sunday, these poor babies came into us after being found dumped at a shooting club in an old tyre.... They all had flea and worm infestations, were pretty skinny and have poorly eyes. They were given flea and worm treatment on arrival and also had to be given a little wash! Two of the boys (Charlie and Houdini) had particularly bad eyes. After a thorough vet check by the lovely Sarah all the kittens were given eye ointment. Charlie and Houdini have also got to have a course of antibiotics. Poor Charlies eye is so bad that it cannot be saved and is going to need to be removed this week :-( Hes only about 8-9 weeks old and so going in for major surgery is of course a big risk, but he cannot be left in pain! We are keeping everything crossed that he pulls through his surgery as he has the sweetest nature and would make a fabulous pet when recovered. (No pressure Sarah!) The other kittens, Sinatra, Ella and Mac are all doing well this morning (although not very keen on the eye ointment!). Little Houdini, the smallest of them all, even seems to be feeling a bit better this morning after starting his antibiotics and is even joining in playtime! It is beyond belief how someone could dump these defenceless poor kittens and just walk way leaving them only knows what fate.... We are lucky to have dedicated volunteers that will take them in (with all their fleas and worms!) and nurse them back to health so they can all find loving homes.... We will be getting out the camera again soon and will keep you posted on their progress....once recovered from their ordeal they will be looking for loving homes, so watch this space. Good luck Charlie boy, we are routing for ya x
