Sunday thoughts... So lets start a conversation about conservation the living planet index just told us we have lost 50% of all species in the last 40 years?! and the chinese are killing tigers to eat their penises for longevity elephants feet on a rich mans mantle piece rare birds eggs in the closet of some person trying to harvest the rarest of delights. but caging that life, stopping it being free is beyond me if you want to experience your connection with animals surely seeing them in their home is the biggest inspiration conservation has a dark history , chucking native peoples off their homelands saying this place is for nature yet all the white men hunting all the buffalo til they were all gone! we since have relearnt that humans too shape the landscape so open your heart to the fact that you too, 2 legged animal are part of nature just as much as the mountains and the trees. conservation doesnt need its boundaries, this bit protected and this bit to destroy for free conservationists have a plight to open up their own cages and become a saving grace starting from the inside going out ive heard a few friends shock as we call land wasteland we need the world to see no land can be wasted their is no less value in the english wildspace that gets flytipped than the amazonian jungle. all of us need to be kind when we tread the earth and stop the mindless senseless use of the earths resources humanity will reap what we sow . so be fierce and bold, mix art and science, personalise scientific evidence so that people can relate, after all its from experience we get passion its from feelings that we act so revolutionise the term conservation its about us feeling ourselves as nature and sustainable throw the i cants and that wont happen to hey guys look at what we can achieve with a little bit of imagination if we can land on the moon and heal diseases that once killed im sure we can lead the way to sustainability its time to start believing in humanity.
