Sunday to Monday potential significant winter storm update #3. This snow will be 15:1 ratio which is light and powdery snow and there is 0.50 inches of precipitable water which is equal to 6-12 inches of snow. Still the track looks like the 2011 Chicago blizzard slightly. Wind gusts seem to be between 25-35mph and sustained winds of 15-20. Blowing snow and high drifts are likely. As for snowfall, there is still a lot of disagreement between the models. But what we can say is that since there is 0.50 inches of precipitable water and thats equal to 6-12 inches of snow, that is a possibility. Averaged out is mainly between 3.5-7 inches. Blizzard conditions are possible with the winds gusting to 35mph and the light powdery snow that is expected at this time. Treacherous travel is getting more and more likely for Sunday night and we advise you to stay off of the roads because of snow accumulation and ice. More updates to come out later.
