Sundays Lincoln Wolds ride report Sam was joined by Jon, Kev, Avril and Billy for a good 85 mile loop out into the wolds for some hills to clime and back again. It was a nice steady pace all the way from the shop to Wragby, with the sun shining and the roads nice and quiet every one was in a good mood even Billy who had had a rather heavy night on Saturday and was rather hungover but still going strong. As we approached the wolds the sky was getting rather dark and as we were all so prepared for lovely sunny weather no one had a coat, but we pressed on. We then made it to the first hill and all got up it fine and our spirits were lifted when Kev broke out the maoam stripes at the top of the first clime, so we chomped on them and then carried on taking in the rest of the hills making our way onto the blue stone heath road. We then made our way along the blue stone heath road passing loads of other cyclists all the way to Tetford hill where we blasted down a very cool decent into the village. We then made our way around to Belchford up one very nasty hill, we then turned and headed back to Lincoln. As we made our way out of the wolds and back along the roads to Bardney we were passed by Josh and Alex two of the team riders who were on a 100 mile plus ride we had a quick chat then they pressed on to complete 111 miles at an average of 20 mph which is dame good going. We then carried on our ride and apart from a puncture and Sams CO2 pump braking we got into Bardney and after a water stop and the co-op we pressed on. Billy had to cut the ride short as he was moving out of his student appartment and need to get home to help with the packing so he took the cycle track home and we all pressed on to Potterhamworth. We then made our way through the villages along some quiet roads towards Navenby, then down towards Bassingham and then back to the shop. In total we covered 90 miles by the time we all got home, every one had a fantastic day and a shout out goes to Avril who did here biggest ride to date and managed to get up every hill bar the nasty one into Belchford village. Thank you to every one that joined us and hope to see you all on the next ride which is a 42 mile road ride this Wednesday.
