Sundays greeting as we wrap up our Halloween Series. Welcome to A Place Of Grace, Let’s face it. He has been at it for as long as anyone can remember (literally, since the beginning of time). And while his tactics have changed over the millennia, his purpose remains consistent, inflict as much chaos and pain as the Father will allow (see Job 1:12). But the Father has always maintained limits, parameters hemming in the antics of the evil one. And for those who have found their way into the arms of Jesus, the limits are extreme, rendering His children off limits as the grass remains cut for as far as the eye can see… Such was Gods promise to the serpent in that first moment of deception toward Adam and Eve. Soon would come one who would crush his head (Genesis 3:15). This morning we celebrate the Victory in Jesus that is ours in Christ as He comes “…to destroy the works of the devil.” (1 John 3:8) It is the promise of God for all who run into the arms of Jesus. But this morning we will explore a dirty little secret few of us are willing to admit out lout as we remove yet another mask (see last weeks powerful message by Pastor James), “We really don’t want all of his works destroyed, just kept under control, easily managed for an occasional visit.” So begins our quest into the deepest realms of grace. Just how many works of the devil do we really want Jesus to destroy and remove from our lives? And like all stories in the Kingdom of God, this too is a tale of grace… Don
