Sunny Days || Spoken Word Posted on January 24, 2014 by jothepoe Dedicated to my friend: She is more than a bust lip A kick in the face and a back flip Better than her boyfriends raging hormones Strong enough to ignore the harsh wind Hitting her sharp in the face Like multiple threats stabbing her heart Like poetry being read fast as if it was a rap race Her battle has yet not finished When domestic violence will never be diminished She’ll continue to feel violated and ugly Inside and outside her body Continue to take abuse As if it was justified Which is all a game of call of duty to amuse Him. Stripped naked for the intention to be harmed Shielding the body that she once owned Hiding behind inanimate objects as if they had a heart or brain I guess they relate to her babe Because who in the right mind or heart would beat a woman And play this game In her eyes she sees a lost soul Something to fix and play the role Of a mother too His hands, she tells me Are so big enough to protect me But they hurt when he slaps me And his lips Soft and supple grips The same lips that are capable of profanity Words that can easily rape you of your dignity And what a pity She is beautiful Thoughts and actions so meaningful With the desire to help others and be a saviour But first, who will come to the rescue to save her? She is strong Cuts and bruises defining the wrong But she looks past them as wounds that would heal Ignoring the hurt that she feels She is smart Sophisticated mind trapped in the form of art Finding ways to find her man guilty With the knowledge that her bastard is filthy But no matter how ugly he is She will always see him as a beautiful kiss Tainted with venom and hate He’s nothing but a barrier to her fate Less of a man and more of a monster His brain will always be too incompetent to understand her She drives messy Because the fog in her path is too feisty Lust clouds her mind like shisha smoke But the only image that ever gets through her head is that bloke I love him I said dump him I don’t see love here Domestic violence is near When will it disappear?
