Sunnyside Center Cinemas is set to be demolished next year, but neighborhood stalwarts arent letting the beloved theatre close without a fight. About 175 Sunnyside residents rallied along Queens Boulevard last week in a last ditch effort to save the 40+-year-old theatre from becoming what some have called the latest casualty of gentrification.
